TOUCHING EARTH MADE OF STEEL - OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS
Ottawa has never seen, much less birthed, anything quite like it... Touching Earth Made Of Steel, mercurial and mysterious to the last have finally released a full-length album with all the bells and whistles. They've called it Occupational Hazards, and it's a joy to listen to and then some.

What is it? It is a sprawling concept album about jobs and the people who do them. It is an eclectic rock and roll album featuring drums, guitars, bass, synthesizers, sampled instruments, a maniacal choir, and ever so much more.

Each song is a tiny portrait of a person engaged in some sort of exotic or not so exotic vocation (from astronaut to lifeguard to plumber). Typically something goes desperately wrong for these folks, and it is to you and I to make what we will of their tales. It's funny. It's tragic. It's interesting. Check out this poster for more!

The music is terrific. It doesn't really sound like anything we can think of. Why not see for yourself? Sometimes it rocks out, sometimes things slooooow down, and sometimes things go crazy. Take the song "She Looked Like Someone I Knew" for example: thirty raving voices chant about the dangers of riptides et cetera.

The packaging is even exceptional. Amber Albrecht produced a drawing for each song. Thus there are twelve different covers available for you to collect and trade with your friends.

But who is responsible?

Andy Cant did almost all of the drums and some keyboards and some singing.

Brian Martin did almost all of the bass and much of the guitars and some backup singing.

Jeremy Latta did most of the synthesizers and a bunch of the guitars, as well as most of the singing.

The band recorded the album themselves over the course of two years. This is a long time, it's true, but it was worth it. We do sincerely believe that you will like it. Pick it up today!

And if all of that wasn't enough Touching Earth Made Of Steel has already got a very strange EP in the works. It's about a disastrous voyage, but we can say no more...
