| THE CONSTELLATIONS - OUT OF THE OVEN AND INTO THE MOUTHS OF HUNGRY CHILDREN | ||
![]() |
The title is a bit of mouthful, and so was the cover art, believe me.
"I'm laying waste to your city for REVENGE." This tortured sentiment sums it up. The world's refuse is getting even this time around, killing innocent babes and wrecking towns whenever they can. But there's also room for some more introspective sentiments. A fading starlet contemplates the end of her career. An intelligence officer longs for a simpler life. A scientist learns that, perhaps, a species once thought extinct is in fact... alive!! In short, then, this single is all over the place. The analogue synthesizers make an excellent showing here. Scratch that, a masterful showing. Listen to the title track and you'll agree. Also, listen to the highly realistic wolf cries rendered on that same song. You'll think you're being pursued by the very beasts!! What's more, this single comes with a brief interpretive guide to help you understand what the songs are about. Don't be disappointed to find that that one song really is about what you thought it was. This cheery cupcake is the sixth volume of the Dominion Singles Club, which deserves your attention and currency. If you subscribe to the club you also get to see some pretty funny videos. And I will write you letters. Listen to The Constellations and eat cupcakes, it makes for an excellent afternoon. This item can be purchased through this website, and the mail. But it's an even better idea to visit Ottawa's best record store: Organised Sound, located at 591A Bank St. instead. Then you can sample the wares, chat with the fellows at the store, and go home with an armload of great stuff. |
