The Constellations - TIL DEATH DO US PART
Til death do us part is the first of a two part release (the balance of which is Everything is nice). Not surprisingly, this album features me and that's about it - although Katie Dutton does make a subtle cameo. What can be said about this album? Well, I'll say that it's pretty good, and you should definitely get it. I like it quite a bit, and I tend to dislike most everything after it's finished. Not so here.

And why is that? I suppose the most I can say is that this is an interesting album, with some interesting lyrics, and interesting music. Like pretty much everything on Dominion, you've never heard anything quite like it (which isn't to say that it's particularly radical in any direction, just original). The songs range from long and plodding, to straight up rock and roll, to sad soulful numbers. Or something like that. It's cruel to expect someone to write things about his own music. Of course its crueler still to ask anyone to read it. I'm sorry. Nonetheless, this is an album you will enjoy if you like to be sad. I'll admit it, making sad music is easier than making happy music, you can evoke a sort of emotional response in the listener without even trying. Hard to resist, but on Everything is nice I tried to get happy. They make a fine pair, pick them up today.
